Mrs Pottinger - 3/4JP
Sorting adverbials of time and place in English.
Prayer Space
The children had an afternoon of reflection with our lovely volunteers.
Analysing the character of Jub from the "Lost Happy Endings."
We thought about Jub's appearance and what that might tell us about her. We also considered her character and the evidence we could use to infer. We have been able to use written evidence as well as pictures to support our thoughts and opinions about her, where she lives and thinks about her thoughts, experiences and feelings.
Karate Fun!
Christmas Craft
Christmas Party Fun
The children had great fun playing games like musical statues, corners, flap the fish, coin and paper game.
History
In history, children have been learning about how children's lives have changed since Tudor times. They have learnt how Lord Shaftesbury tried to improve the lives of working children. We also discussed how children's leisure has changed and if there are similarities by sorting statements into a huge Venn diagram in the hall.
That History Bloke
We had a visit from That History Bloke to find out about the day-to-day life of a monk and what life was like in an Anglo
-Saxon monastery. We learnt how monks communicate when observing the strict rules of silence using the ancient hand gestures and had a go. We found out what jobs monks did for their community and had hands-on with some replica Anglo-Saxon objects. We learnt how to create beautiful handwriting using real quill pens and ink. Finally, we learnt how Anglo-Saxons had fun playing a game from times gone by.
