Year 3 Christmas party!!!
We had a great time on Friday afternoon at our party! Thank you so much for all the lovely food children brought in and to our wonderful kitchen staff who made some sandwiches, pizza and waffles. Delicious! We will be snacking next week to finish it all off!

Prayer Spaces

Massive thanks again to our lovely volunteers who come to school with wonderful opportunities as part of Prayer Spaces. We spent time in the ‘stable’ thinking about the Christmas story, made some special Christmas tree ornaments, wrote our wishes for the world and jumped like mad on the trampoline while shouting out what we will be thankful for this Christmas time. It was amazing to hear one child shout, ‘For my new school!’ Fabulous to know that in just a few days they feel very much at home and love it at Ryton!

Some of the tree decorations were taken home and others will be on the trees at Ryton Methodist Church so look out for them there.

The Stone Age and the Bronze Age

We did a great job comparing these two time periods using a vent diagram today. We also played a ‘Can we survive?’ game to help us understand what was needed for humans to survive in the Bronze Age.

Interfaith Week

This week, Ryton had some fabulous visitors in school who taught us so much about their religion and answered our many questions!

The History Detective Workshop

Wow! What an amazing opportunity Year 3 have had! We worked with an archaeologist  from Durham University to piece together the puzzle pieces and learn all about life in prehistoric Britain! We have more than 1-2 children inspired to be archaeologists in the future!

Prayer Spaces
A huge thank you to all of the lovely volunteers who come to school to make this such a special and thoughtful time. They always bring lots of great activities to help us think about their important messages.

The Stone Age

Year 3 couldn’t quite believe how long ago the prehistoric times were! Even the never ending toilet roll timeline didn’t do it justice!

Rocks
Year 3 have had great fun finding out about types of rocks, how they are formed and learning about the properties of rocks. We have even discovered how fossils are formed!!

Leon and the Place Between

We have thoroughly enjoyed sharing this book, investigating the characters, exploring the story and discovering the magical Place Between!

Year 3 loved their transition days!
Super start to Year 3
