This week, the children listened to the team from Kidslingo presenting a 'French' assembly. We sang songs and played some games in French. There will be a French club after half term for all interested. See the flyer your child brought home on Wednesday.
Many thanks again to the 'prayer space' team, who have been in this week. The children have very much enjoyed some activities based on thinking about reflecting on their senses.
We are currently doing a film making unit in computing. Here we are using a storyboard to try framing the shot in different ways (close up, long shot and long shot to close up.) We used different techniques too, like having fixed cameras or zooming. Afterwards we evaluated which 'shots' were most successful.
Here are the spellings for Year 5 RED group for the first half of the Spring term.
Our non-uniform day was well supported. Many thanks to all who sent a 'bottle' for the Christmas fair next week.

In our history lessons, we've been looking at the accuracy of sources of evidence by investigating two photos of Vikings. We didn't find them very reliable!
Please find the Year 5 RED group spelling lists for the second half of the Autumn term below.
Here are our 'artistic' versions of planets in our solar systems made using natural materials in the forest. Can you guess the planet?
Year 4 and 5 had a very enjoyable trip to The Centre for Life this week. They were very enthusiastic exploring the 'Space', 'Wow' and 'Creativity zones. We watched a space feature in the 'Planetarium' and time travelled through space for a spectacular 'flaming' show. We also went up in to the 'labs' to carry out several experiments including: replacing solar panels in space with robotic arms; testing which kinds of strawberries would be best to send to space (fresh, freeze dried or dehydrated); deciding on which material would be best in space to keep astronauts warm; and testing MAGs to see how much they can hold when astronauts go to the toilet! The children represented the school brilliantly. Well done everyone!
Here we are, busily making our own timelines of the Viking era and putting our measuring skills to the test.
We've had the 'Prayer Space' group in leading activities for us this week. Have a look at how we got on.
We had 'That History Bloke' in school this week telling us all about the Vikings. We enjoyed playing Viking games and handling replica objects.
Please find RED group spellings for the first half of the Autumn term below.
We have chosen to have a 'class flag' based on lions, because lions are fearless, persistent and sociable, to name but a few of their characteristics.
In English, we are busy researching information about the fictional moon 'Pandora' to help us write a persuasive text about it.
